Education Dupuyer Creek Outdoor Classroom Held each Spring, this event is a day-long natural resources education day for 4th graders in Pondera County. Workshops range from Soils to Wilderness Survival to using the Rolling Rivers Trailer. At the end of the day, each student is sent home with their own flower or plant seeds along with other educational activities. Each year teachers return to the classroom with a new educational activity to incorporate into their classroom studies. Montana Range Days One of the largest range education events in the state, Pondera County has been chosen as host for 2007 and 2008. Montana Range Days is a three-day event for anyone ages 4 through adult. After an intense day of workshops including Plant ID, Plant Anatomy, Soils and much more attendees participate in a contest. Drawing approximately 300 people each year, Montana Range Days brings people from every corner of the state. For more information visit www.montanarangedays.com
Other Activities The Pondera County Conservation is a supporter of many other youth activities such a Youth Range Camp, Montana Youth Natural Resource Camp, Montana Envirothon, Governor's Range Tour & Winter Grazing Seminar, to name a few. Each year the District also provides scholarships to selected Pondera County graduates, awards to 4-H contestants at the Marias Fair and helps support the Front Range Conservation Education Group.
